Just a year into devolution and we are already seeing tremendous success stories like this. The national gov whose second name is National Corruption despite "prudently" managing our funds since 1963 have not built a single tarmac in many areas.

Strange.  I knew those parts were marginalized.  I had no idea how bad it was.  I bet it's not any better than neighboring regions of Somalia.

Neighboring region is Somalia is actually better because they do not have KRA levying import duty so they buy basic stuff they need cheaply; import sugar for 1/3 or even less the kenya one; same with everything else including clothes, name it. In fact despite those bad roads...through kismayu port..those somali make lots of money once their goods get to Easleigh.

Gov is basically non-existent--it NGOS and UN who ran the show. And their county gov are filling a huge void.

National gov should salvage the little left by tarmaking 800km road to mandera..they can do 200km every yr...and in 5yrs..we will have a tarmac to Mandera.

Strange.  I knew those parts were marginalized.  I had no idea how bad it was.  I bet it's not any better than neighboring regions of Somalia.

Now tell these people Devolution is crap and see how they would laugh at you! I notice the Transitional Authority Chair wearing his GEMA jacket at last to use his office to "help" Nyooba. We know that audits can never be done on time. How about using un audited figures and adjusting the same once the audits are out?
