We have experienced riots before whenever rivals visited stronghold of their opponents . In 2013 Uhuru was unable to campaign in Siaya and Kisumu , actually due to the cricticality of the situation his chopper and Rutos was unable to land in those counties he proceeded to Homabay for the campaigns .
Same for Raila where in 2017 he was barricaded and his entourage was stoned in Thika .
However this was at the height of campaigns where the atmosphere is toxic and its a do or die thing .
What Raila and hadshake team is doing now is dangerous , it will be replicated by his opponents and he will become person non granta in some regions . All this because of a referendum . Its upto them we might as well not have one

Protests have broken out in Kisii town ahead of Deputy President William Ruto’s visit today.
The protests have been staged by a pro-handshake team, but the DP’s supporters have come out to counter.
Dr Ruto is Thursday expected to visit Kisii County as the Gusii vote continues to attract the interest of politicians eyeing the country’s top seat in the 2022 General Election.
The visit comes two days after the DP hosted another consultative meeting with a section of elected leaders from the region, at his Karen residence in Nairobi on Monday
