Eldee should be at least Nakuru level with airport, uni, RIvatex, Raiply, etc and agric. Moi cronyism really helped. Of course PEV risk factor there is worse than Kisumu

Eldoret is a good town with potential of becoming a big city, being situated on a major highway is a plus, what needs to be done is a little bit of planning to decongest the town, remove the stage from within CBD,expand the main road to four or six lanes.I liked the town while studying in Moi University.I used to eat fish pale karibu na uasin gishu primary, there used to be vibandas, but nowadays I see they have upgraded.

Yeah, investing in eldoret or rv is playing a high stakes game. My college roommate family lost a massion and factory wprthy more than 50 million. They had those big Whiteman farms that had a castle like home. The idiots blew it up with ammonia bombs. He showed me pictures. Luckily after 1992 and 1997 his family had moved most of their investments to nairobi and kitale. I bet you Eldoret would be bigger rivaling nakuru but everyone had to shift out of the area

Eldoret and Nakuru will grow faster than Kisumu because of the land availability. There are huge parcels of land around the town. The same is true for Nairobi and Mombasa.

Most of kenya towns are hobbled for lack of cheap land. Kericho for example is stuck - I see Narok is growing very fast.

I think once updated stats are done - Eldoret is bigger than Nakuru - and Nakuru is bigger than Kisumu. Kisumu is not growing. It's a dead city. Kisumu for me is 5th largest city, Eldoret or Nakuru are 2nd largest - the east of Nakuru has grown fast - the west of Nakuru - not so much.

Eldorethas what it takes to be number 3 but because of land issues it will struggle their is no stability there i did rather invest in Meru town for that matter or Isiolo town and nanyuki not further from there. Kalenjin have to stop being  belligerent all the time.

Yes I think this affect both Nakuru and Eldoret. There are clear tribal lanes or zones you don't cross. Kikuyus seem to invest in Nakuru East mostly.

Isiolo will eventually grow  into a city- but it also has same tribal issues btw merus, boranas, turkanas, somalis and etc.

Once lapset is on and especially Ethiopia-Kenya trade continue to blossom - Isiolo will grow. If there are places I would risk buying land it's Lamu and Isiolo.

Meru I suspect like many other kenya towns in highly arable land are hobbled by land availability. You cannot get say 2,000 acres of land to put a project that can change the town. The town cannot become a city - if you're buying single plots here and there.

Eldorethas what it takes to be number 3 but because of land issues it will struggle their is no stability there i did rather invest in Meru town for that matter or Isiolo town and nanyuki not further from there. Kalenjin have to stop being  belligerent all the time.

Well put.places like meru will just grow gradually but not attain the levels of Eldoret and other RV towns. Nyeri and embu for example isn't gaining that even after devolution, they were provincial capitals thats in the past now, Meru has managed to grow as its a centre and jumping post for the north areas.plus the locals invest almost exclusively there, its the biggest town in mt. Kenya now by far excluding Kiambu areas.
If land issue is solved Eldoret will be huge.
