Not sure if this was your experience growing up in Kenya. I grew in rural Kenya so on a full moonlight the sky was a wonderful sight. I used to watch shooting stars, milky ways and there were several stars big ones on the western side of Kenya. There was nothing like see shooting stars. I remember in 1987 there was a meteor that entered Kenyan airspace. it came booming in our area toward Nairobi and was last spotted over ngong hills. My speculation it is burned out over ngong hills...

Man I want my kids to experience this so bad

may be a bigger on will hit one of these days and end this shit show

by the way what would happen if a big asteroid hit Antarctica and cause a heat enough to melt everything?
