How the fuck is something 20 kms away associated with these repossessions. These evictions have always happened. In 2007 while visiting I witnessed a brutal eviction of illegal grabbers of NCCK land in eastlands. NCCK had won cases but these illegal occupiers kept on refusing to budge. I think some how the land was sold and police brought late at night and they knocked all structures down. In the morning the mechanics in the area and hawkers organized a demo. Riot police got in there and I almost got caught up in the melee. I was walking from Buru Buru supermarket and I saw a cop running, the next thing is I heard gun shots and when I got near there I was told by watchies to take off as the riot police was pursuing rioters.

Nairobi has a lot of land thieves that need to be tamed.

Try and get a plan design for Northlands. They need lots of expansion including sewerage.

Second, YES, Nairobi has a lot of squatters and land thieves. That is not a secret. But when you are talking about people on some public land, then that's a different issue from NCCK or privately owned land. These people have been there for years. So option for government is either to allocate them land or resettle them or at the very least make sure they are evicted in a humane manner and with sufficient notice.

Also what's "public land?" Such people are also part of the public. The current accelerated evictions are chiefly motivated by other concerns and not just "rescuing public land.."

Then when it's all said and done, it is done during restricted movements, during curfew, during so called pandemic. AND evictions/demolition are accompanied by police escort. AND YOU THINK WANJOHI IS CLUELESS what's cooking?

Nairobi MPs met and had a talk with Matiang'i and they pleaded that evictions should not be carried out during Covid-19 Pandemic. But as you can see, nothing changed. Some MP was told these exact words... "Nairobi is under military stewardship. They don't answer to civilian leaders..."

Go figure.

FYI.. Chief Justice issued Practice Notes and Directions for Judiciary and all litigants and Advocates that, among other, NO EXECUTION ORDERS SHALL ISSUE DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC PERIOD as all courts are operating on a reduce work schedules. Only urgent cases are being dealt with.; but no execution orders to issue. SO WHERE'S GOVERNMENT GETTING THESE ORDERS TO EVICT/DEMOLITION?

AfDb has billions in pending projects contracts. Uhuru and his hungry broke men recently hired in the line MDAs want to eat billions meant for land and structures compensation without a fuss.

The IDPs are getting the stick after being duped by Waititu and that Jared Ochok goons out of their IDPs compensation. The solution is to get the white highlands redistributed - Kakuzis, Delmonte, Brooke Bond, those big farms need to be invaded or legally acquired.

Without any respect of Judicial orders, we are not any better than South Sudan where Army General can take your wife and property. LSK and Judges need to do more. They basically need to go rogue and refuse to hear anything from AG & DPP - until it start to respect court orders.

COVID will interrupt but biggest eating is about to happen as Uhuru orphans gorged themselves for the last time. Despite the bravado - they know Uhuru is going home or will never be PORK again -so expect mega scandals in 2021 and 2022.
