Wilson Kipsang Arrested
« on: April 03, 2020, 10:13:13 PM »
Violating covid-19 curfew in a bar in Iten.
Quote
An Elgeyo Marakwet Member of County Assembly (MCA), a top athlete and several other revelers have this evening been arrested for defying the curfew.

Kapchemutwa Ward Representative Ambrose Kiplagat, also known as Roho Juu, and former world record holder Wilson Kipsang were bundled into police vehicles after they were found drinking alcohol in a popular club in Iten town.

The duo were among nearly 20 people who had locked themselves inside the club to drink, against orders requiring Kenyans not to get out of their homes after 7pm in the evening.

Police said the visibly intoxicated revelers dramatically attempted to resist arrest forcing the officers who were on patrol to seek for reinforcement.

Elgeyo Marakwet Police Commander John Mwinzi said the suspects were arrested following a tip-off from members of the public.

"Our officers found the MCA, the athlete and other revelers hiding in a popular club in Iten. These are high profile individuals who should be helping us in enforcement of the curfew," Mr Mwinzi told Standard Digital.

He added: "We are asking members of the public to stop abusing our reluctance to use full force during the enforcement of the curfew."

Kipsang was last December involved in a road accident that extensively wrecked his car in what was suspected to be a case of drunken driving.

Police State is the in-thing in this Covid-19 utopia. Everyone must, and MUST, follow Big Brother Diktat failure to which the mob and the Gestapo descend on you like nothing.
I hope DCI used Phone Triangulation to locate and discipline such miscreants.

Mwafrika resisting governments (uniformed and technocrats) is an inbuilt mechanism - wired into the DNA. How politicians get mwafrika to dance Ndombolo is quite a paradox - must be that they fashion as always coming to 'form a new government of angels'.

I had been wondering where Wilson Kipsang vanished to since his exploits in the marathon.  Looks like he was seduced by the bottle as Kenyans like to say.

They had locked themselves in the bar, so you couldn’t tell from outside that there were people inside. But they forgot that drunkards tend to become very loud as the session wears on.

He was caught doping. It appears 99% of Kenya althetes - or well world athletes dope.

As for the bar - I think he owns the resort.

Then he was drinking in his sitting room. :D
But the buliding is very ugly. Kenyans truly have no taste.

I am starting to think doping has been a thing in Kenya longer than we think.  That could explain why a lot of the athletes emerge on the scene and then quickly leave.  The few holdouts are people like Eliud Kipchoge and this steeplechase roughneck Ezekiel Kemboi.

Yes, there the few exceptions who were child prodigies - the likes of Vivian Cheruiyot - were outcompeting adults in their primary schools. Those that for example went to St's Patrick iten & Singore girls right from primary have the pedigree. The late bloomers are mostly liars. Kenya will eventually get banned.

Running is the most natural talent if there was one - and should pretty much show up - by the time you're like 5yrs. Zero equipment. Zero skills. Just running. So many of the current "great" athletes who went to school and has no impressive junior records. Those are the cheats.

The likes of Sir Mo Farah who are late bloomers are obviously big cheats.

Vivian Cheruiyot, in contrast, was already a big star in primary school - with her diminutive body - she uses to beat way older girls "At the age of 14, she pulled a surprise when she won the national cross-country championship in 1997. However, being underage, she was barred from joining Team Kenya"
