Communication is going satellite & globalized... soon it will be possible to have Google or Facebook or Verizon simcard. Safaricom is a dinosaur that will soon go to museum.

Pundit I  know Safcom  is your only stock - as you invest in trees and under the mattress :) - pls sell thank junk right now while it still high.

Opportunity for safcom to the real pie - Mobile Money - they should lobby for cash to be banned.

Connection outside CBD and the not so leafy suburbs is pathetic. Bundles are too expensive if not unreasonable.

There is so much idle bandwith even before recent landing of Dare 1 and now these baloneys.
As per Communication Authority, We had 1,508.61 Gbps unutilized bandwith by September 2019 - Crazy!!

We need incentive for last mile ISPs who are throttled by nonsense regulations and expensive gadgets. Mifi routers are costing $54; TP Link router $35 - these should be retailing at $5-$10.

That is all great. Let's see how it goes for Telkom.

What was peculiar is for the President to schedule a live nationwide address in the middle of what his government calls "Coronavirus pandemic" to announce about Google Loon or whatever so that kids can have elearning in the midst of lockdown. Was it that important? Terrible timing and lack of sensibility. Or does he have some personal interest which won't really surprise Kenyans.
What's more, s he tout e-learning somebody should remind him about failed laptop project and that majority of Kenyans and their school going children have no gadgets to access internet and those that do (some kind of smartphone) most cannot afford to purchase enough data for e-learning.

The lack of seriousness befitting the moment is just unbelievable. Kenya supposedly has alot of tech savvy people, won't it have been more appropriate to get mucheru to recruit a few tachies to get a program to keep track of infected people and contacts to maintain spread of the virus? Something like what south korea did.

You expect too much from the likes of Mucheru. They would rather give a fat contract to Huawei for such a project and of course their cut is transferred to a bank in Dubai.
