By the time we pay off the debt looted in the power sector it will hit Kshs. 50/ $0.5. 113 billion at Kenya Power ; KENGEN since Sondu Miriu 90s are due; KETRACO and such.

Our power issues are more like KQ; past looting combined with present looting means we are still light years behind other progressive third worlds

Also conflict of interests to the likes of Uhuru makes matters more complicated. His family owns a chunk of KPLC.

Pundit, where did you get this?? As an averagely longtime player in the industry (Geothermal), i don't remember that Kenya's was that high compared to Tanzania, or even more expensive than Rwanda. I had to check it up.... and it turns out that we are not that much higher than Tz (which has enormous resources [Songo-Songo Gas to Power] to power even the whole region). Rwanda for that matter isn't cheaper than us, being that it currently is not even generating sufficient power for its own use.

I got it from jamii forum. Okay yeah bit doggy. I know Ethiopia is cheapest with 6 cents - and it heavily subsidized. I think kenya hovers around 14-20 shs now.
