Whitelash... many whites feel threatened by the demographic trends. The resurrection of white supremacy all over is not a coincidence. People act civil due to fear of consequences not because they are civil or love minorities. Ilhan's real crime is being the wrong race, religion and gender.

But you shouldn't need the Ilhan saga for that.  Study after study has shown that the best predictor for Trump support was race resentment.  Better than Republican party membership, level of education, income, gender etc.

I don't think it's her gender. If she was a dude, it might've been even worse, methinks. Practically a suicide bomber to those guys on Fox from the way they've been carrying on merely from the fact that she's Muslim + Immigrant.

I think it's being Somali (Immigrant from feared Islamic "terrorist" country) + African (despised people) + Black (no need to add anything here) + Muslim (She's devout, based on the hijab; to some, she might as well be Wahabi).

But what shocks me the most is that they are literally making stuff up. The antisemitism claims were all BS. I've seen all the "controversial" tweets and statements. She didn't say a single thing antisemitic. Not one. She criticized AIPAC, congresspeople, and the anti-bds law, and waaay in the past she criticized Israel. (Saudi Arabia too). That's literally it.  Now, this 9/11 claims are even crazier than the antisemitism.

These guys are trying to harass her out of office through resignation or death, methinks. It's ridiculous.

I think you should.  America has a very interesting demographic dynamic.  On one extreme they have what I believe to be the most racist bunch of whites in Western civilization.  But they also have a decent combination of liberals and minorities, enough to give a minority candidate like Obama a chance.

Your observation about Ilhan is spot on.  Especially her race.  The black is a godsend.  She is everything the doctor asked for if you are a Republican demagogue.   It is racism.  The attacks on her national origin and religion are just proxies for racism and are less problematic in American society.
