Eveready Finally Shuts Down
« on: September 29, 2014, 04:53:36 PM »
How on earth did this company expect to continue peddling poor quality batteries and survive? The blane competition, I say they are blind. The day the Chinese flooded re-chargeable torches, radios and almost every appliance is the day Eveready died or should have!

Such a factory could have made a few adjustments and went in to the manufacturing of cellphone batteries. There is the increasing market for batteries of different kinds - solar, cars, electric cars etc. The problem is while they are doing it now, the Chinese did it thirty years ago and now they can't compete.

Quote
cheap imports and counterfeits.Eveready will start outsourcing its flagship D-sized dry cell battery manufacturing to an Egyptian firm and concentrate on sales and distribution in the region through partnerships.
... [the ICC case] will be tried in Europe, where due procedure and expertise prevail.; ... Second-guessing Ocampo and fantasizing ..has obviously become a national pastime.- NattyDread

The company went public?
How long ago?
So the public money went down with it.
