How did she win Project Runway??
« on: August 01, 2018, 03:28:53 PM »
She learnt to sew in 4 months then did nothing for 5 weeks leading up to the runway show. Before the runway show the judges told her her collection was shit, so she cobbled together scraps of fabric in a day drapy flowy fabrics for her collection and wins. That could be the story of my life which shits me the most, what if I'm like that? Get my shit together only under pressure.

Ro, where are you?

Lol veri. Passion... if you don't really like it - love it - it's just work not fun. Work should be fun. A good test for something you like is: can you do it on impulse? On a sunday evening? Can you skip a date or party for it? The tragedy of most folks - they work for a living and money - not a vocation. It's a travesty that jobs are scarce so most people settle for anything. Women we are sadly the most saddled with this.

veri if you've designed games for sale on AppStore i don't think you're lazy. Motivation comes in spikes and lulls for me too. There are low seasons when i take off from work and cool down. You could be going through that.. do something exciting and don't beat yourself up. Avoid negative friends and draining your energy.

How's your stuff on AppStore? any sales?

This is a good guide for young ones and also older ones suffering from misery at work. It's a tragedy that talents are buried because we've been programmed to seek stability and prestige and money. I believe the best way to create jobs, going into the future, is to encourage and help people identify their gifts and natural interests and then show them how to provide value with it so others will be willing to spend a buck on it. After all, machines are about to take over everybody's jobs, we better find a third way, a new kind of economy, and first.

Robots won't take away jobs any more than computers did... new areas will emerge as you say. In my ideal world the mega corps and tycoons would be just taxed enough and everyone gets ubi - basic welfare. Then we can all work on our real talents and gifts, not survival. With some assured income people would be more creative, productive and definitely less grumpy. Not lazier as some imagine.
