Ruto is too proud and is surrounded by too many people who look up to him for strength to that. It was very difficult for Raila to do the hand shake and some of his more radical supporters still think he sold out.  Imagine what Ruto would go through if he were to bury the hatchet with Baba, some of his people would see that as a defeat.  I therefore think Ruto will fight and probably take over the role of opposition. The problem is that he does not have the moral authority that opposition leaders usually have.

Careful. If Pundit sees you advising sobriety and not hubris, he'll jump down your throat and accuse you of cowardice in the face of GEMA.

Ruto should study sonko.Drive the hustler narrative and back it up by working hard to deliver maendeleo.Gema deni is the joker ace he should hide.Avoid bobby traps and trojan horse.Focus still on Raila as only real threat.Weaken Raila further and reduce him to nothing more than old luo king.In short change nothing concede nothing.Keep it up.

Nairobi 2017 v Kenya 2022 are different.. Sonko v PK was 3 months contest while Ruto faces 4 years punching in the dark. Who's the enemy -Raila, Uhuru, Gideon, Kalonzo, ?

Sonko has soiled the Hustler brand.. flashy campaigns and dismal results. He's also proven untrustworthy after throwing Igathe out.

There are many flaws in the Sonko study.

I still strongly believe 2022 is Ruto's to lose or be a king maker.  I partially agree with Pundit that Ruto should not concede any ground to Raila then he should go further and throw a joker card at Raila and his team by threatening he is still young and it's not a must he be president in 2022 and is willing to support whoever Kenya n's choose ( anyone but Raila).

Anyone who think Gideon is a threat of any proportion is not serious. At least MaDVD can now boast of half maragoli :) - the man is another joker. Kalonzo is reliable 8% center with 20mps.Raila and Uhuru are main players.Uhuru cannot only shadow box but Raila is fair game.Ruto should not fight Uhuru but pull no punches on Raila. He is doing well in coast $ western(Busia,Bungoma & Kakamega).Matiangi if he survives Ruaraka can pull off gusii from Raila grip..When that done it game shot.Raila is now over-leveraging luos.

Sonko like Ruto was popular amongst the voters and some people have tried to blackmail or curtail him - but he been quite adept at the game. The same case is happening here..Ruto is by far the candidate to beat in 2022 and all the weaklings are trying to stop him.

Kingereza mingiii, it goes without saying a GNU will undercut the DP, politically neuter the man and it will be the end of 50-50. Case closed. Waiting for when not if.  8)

President Uhuru Kenyatta is working on a government of national unity that he could unveil at any time.

Why will Uhuru wish himself NARA :) He gains nothing. Unless DP Ruto is now THE gorrilla - a nightmare to Uhuru. I don't think so. Uhuru gains nothing from GNU - except a very noisy gov.

Uhuru and Raila interest is to thwart Ruto play at non-GEMA dominance. So he can deal in 2022 like they did in 2012. Smart move. Ruto's disadvantaged because he's the one with more to lose - can't let it get bloody, etc - basically Ruto's position 2018-22 is Raila 2008-12. It's a delicate role where you get to smile at hyenas as they knife you since you don't know if you gon need them later. Uhuru has the vantage post and his job is to complicate swing zones and disrupt the cashflow. Matiang'i, Tobiko, Haji - these are Uhuru pawns not Ruto's. Kalonzo, Madvd are back to NASA. Weta comes minus Ford K. Your 40% MOAS is far from guaranteed now and that's the objective. Ruto's doing badly - from anointed successor to basics - does he even have a party?

Trojan horse 2 has really messed Ruto's plans. Maybe he should call UhuRao bluff and embrace the curse of the kingmaker. We all know how the last Raila-Ruto union went down :D Raila as PORK would snatch his base and in the blink of an eye Ruto would be back to crying betrayal. It's do or die for Ruto.

It would not be NARA because Raila is not to be consulted on every government decision.  He is not even in government.  It seems like a good way to remind the hustler of his place without breaking anything.

Not a NARA yes, just strategic moves to curtail Ruto. Seems Uhuru just brokered a Joho-Balala detente. Tobiko was "surprised" at how much Joho has transformed the city  :)

When was the last time Ouru was holed up outside Nairobi for a considerable amount of time and not come up with something?

Is RV pundit still delusional that GNU wont happen? Look folks the next time I post on .org, NARA will be in place and that will of course be the end of that selfish self-serving 50-50 as we were made to know it.

Expect Ruto's nusu mkate to be hived to quarter mkeka :D - as Uhuru spreads the cheese. Watch for swing zones and Big Four... Land to go to a Mijikenda like Mwakwere to deny him access to the title deeds leverage in Coast. Energy & oil to go to non-Ruto politician from Turkana, etc. Tobika to proceed wedging off Maa using Mau. Ruto's toothless dogs Cherargei et al to continue barking - especially Sudi the chihuahua :D

Uhuru's interest is to cut Ruto to size so he is amenable to 50-50 in 2022. Raila's & Uhuru's interests are aligned presently same as Ruto-GEMA's were aligned 08-12 when GEMA used Ruto to contain Raila. Uhuru is not happy with current "stability" since Ruto is too entrenched and is shamelessly offering him Supreme Leader hot air. The only trustworthy politician is one who lacks numbers and must cut a deal. The plan is to reset to pre-2012 when Ruto had two deputy options - noone was gona deputize his broke ass with a dismal 14%. This time Ruto is the "man to beat" - and gleeful Raila is the payback.

If Uhuru succeeds, by 2022 Ruto will be desperate like Raila in 2012 - meeting Luo and Kikuyu elders begging to be supported for PORK. Smart alec has mulled all this, of course, and Pundit will brief us shortly on the secret ace.

Robina, we are in the same orbit on this thing. In fact I did the maths: It will not be quarter (25%) BUT it will be 20Sports CS Achesa accuses Raila of plotting his sacking  :85:
