I disagree.  They are only afraid of transparent and verifiable elections.

The crack down is just going to harden NASA's position.  You cannot have a democracy without a robust civil society. This is therefore a clear indication that Jubilee under Ruto will eviscerate the democratic gains this country has made.  NASA should therefore take a very hardline position with Jubilee and use everything in their power to counter these anti-democracy moves by Jubilee.

Two things will come out of this. Three actually.

1. The economy will suffer some more.

2. Maraga's legacy is now entwined with Odinga's. The investigations can potentially damage the bench if the "historical ruling" is found to have been connived by fraud.

3. Jubilee set out to round up the civil society in 2013 but dithered. Tough lack this time. There are ample models to borrow - Russia and China leap to mind. This may partially work due to what Ndii ascribed recently as US lethargy to fending off China.

It seems we are back to the 90s. Yet we have been laughing at Brexit and Trump.
