So both of you have been proved to be fallible (big shock!). What you guys have are at best clever/educated guesses. None of you really knows what will happen on 8/8.

It's all guess work. Even the polls sometimes get it wrong. The way people vote is complex and unique to every election. Nobody is going to tell me how that somehow, based on some "reliable arm chair tribal arithmetic" they can tell who is going to vote for who. My feeling that NASA will win the presidential contest is based purely on my subjective reading of the political mood of the country right now and as the campaigns unfold and on the issues at hand. There is no reliable tribal formula to project a winner even before the votes are cast.
