You must mean the ballot printing.  Granted it's like asking incompetent IEBC to perform magic.

Was there public participation in all the other ballots other than the presidential ballots yet it is one tender?

The other candidates did not complain.  The courts can only give relief to those who ask for one.

All it'd take is for any obscure aspirant r one of the disgruntled independent candidate to rush to court and have the others stopped as well. Trust me by Monday, not less than 20 will file this application

People want free, fair and transparent elections any day, not just 8th August. I think it is OK to hold them in November or even March 2018 so long as all players are confident in their integrity.

Somebody elsewhere observed that Daily Nation prints 2 million copies of its Newspaper everyday and distributes them throughout the country. IEBC has a whole month. There is no reason why IEBC should not comply with the courts order. Instead of appealing the case it should consult with the presidential candidates and strike a deal.

Public participation in a tender? Really? Nothing will ever happen in Kenya.

Tender? Nooo this one the court of appeal will dealcwith like it dismissed all other prayers

The gloom and doom is really over the top.  This is printing ballot papers and not trying to put man in mars. Chill people, the sky is not falling.

The IEBC was publicly asked for this by multiple actors. They arrogantly refused. The requests fulfilled a key element in litigation which could not be ignored. The IEBC could not feign ignorance or come up with other excuses. Itv was clear that it had refused. Now the court cannot overlook that.

As for the printing delays, the Al Ghurair has scheduled to start printing on the 18th of July. That means even the IEBC knows there is enough time to go through the legal process and print on time without interfering with the program.

That said, there are things that must be explored in future:

1. One Ballot paper for all candidates to eliminate 6 different ballots
2. Hold presidential elections separately from the others
3. Hold Local elections - County Elections more frequently and separately from the others

I would propose a six year one term presidency and reduce the term of MCAs to two years
