Most broke campaigns?
« on: June 19, 2017, 02:46:09 PM »
Have heard people are complaining that even moneybags like Sonko are walking in town and slums empty handed.

Even the independent wave has not helped in the strongholds rural areas.

Is it lessons from nominations, changing times or a serious cash crunch?
I underestimated the heartbreaks visited by hasla revolution

Opus Dei CBK Njoroge has made money laundering very hard. They are limited to 1m per day withdrawal. And CBK is closely monitoring any large movement of money. Kalonzo millions is being held after he tried to use NGOS. The same stranglehold on foreign money is affecting I think NASA.

Good. I think politicians don't do themselves any favours when they encourage the culture of "paying" people for votes, rallies or whatever.

It is your duty as a citizen to inform yourself about the candidates and what they are offering and then to go to the booth and cast a ballot. No one should be required to give you any money just because he is campaigning. Kenyans are so used to this, they basically demand these hand-outs these days. Money doesn't grow on trees! And it is your country, your life, your children, their future, that you are voting for.

Politicians can go bankrupt pleasing people with money, no wonder they go back to work stealing as soon as they are elected. I know someone trying to get a small seat who is constantly harrased for money by the residents of that area. And they take it personally too, if you dont give something. Goodness. And the fools who get the kitu kidogo feel satisfied that they've gotten 'something' and some may even be stupid enough to fail to think about their lives in connection with the vote after that.

This culture doesn't serve ANYONE. Its the kind of thing that will force even a decent aspirant to become corrupt to survive. I hope it dies.

Its amazing that the presidential race is still competitive when Jubilee has access to all the money they need while the opposition is being denied any and all access to campaign money. If the playing field was level, this would have been a  blow-out.  Punda imechoka.

The truth is Jubilee Campaign is broke. They overspent on tumbocrats and had to hurriedly conduct a harambee to raise money. This Kalonzo false equivalence is the lamest fallacy I have heard this year.

Kalonzo was targeted by Fazul after he was named number two. The next in line was to be DPP Tobiko over some old land case which is dead on the basis of the AG vs Githunguri Judgement precedent which set 8 years as the upper limit for a case to last after which it becomes persecution.

Kalonzo went to court and obtained orders unfreezing his NGOs accounts. The fake reason cited by Fazul was that Kalonzo could not account for donations. There is no law requiring NGOs to account to the NGO Board.

Now I need to see some evidence of the CBK writing to Kalonzo freezing his accounts.

Here is the evidence to support what I am saying. Now please present evidence to support what you are alleging. Yesterday you denied being a rumor monger and propagandist.

KM

We can use it to put pressure on GoK (Government of Kenyatta) but sadly it is not true.

NASA has more than enough funding. They are actually swimming in cash. There are no restrictions as the Uhuru regime lacks the capacity to promote an enabling culture of financial probity.

It is Jubilee that has run in to hard weather:

1. They relied on the Eurobond. Unfortunately whoever they gave to hide it for them turned out to be a thief. Count how many trips both Uhuru and Ruto and others close have made to South Africa and Brazil.

2. The Brazilian bit must be very carefully withdrawn because any little noise and the ongoing Car Wash investigation gets in to it. They have written off that.

Zuma has been very generous with information to NASA.

Trust Omollo to twist and turn - and as always yarn a story only believable to himself. NASA are so broke they have held only two rallies in nearly 2 weeks.

Pundit,  I do not believe that holding useless rallies like the ones Jubilee recently held in Western should bother NASA.  It boils down to  quality vs. quantity. Also, timing is crucial. NASA is running a very smart campaign this time around.

What is smart about NASA rallies in Jubilee stronghold Meru-Tharaka Nithi? Raila had planned to hold rallies in Central kenya last week but for some reason they were cancelled. The chief inciter Muthama is sulking and now Raila has to incite himself. In rallies - most of Raila key men are absent - MaDVD or Kalonzo or Weta are present today absent tomorrow..Of course Isaac is MIA...no synergy.

I am seeing Jubilee that have managed to do marathon rallies in many counties - covering entire counties - and Uhuru has not stepped in statehouse for 2 weeks. That is some energy and focus. And they've stayed on message.

NASA are either broke or just disorganized. Today they were set to unveil their manifesto - that got postponed. Just like most of last week programme were post-phoned and Raila got so bored he attended IEBC open day:)

But considering Raila affinity to blunders - NASA are probably better shutting up than having to clean up Raila mess after every rally. The aftermath of his lame attempt to incite Maasai Kajiado is yet to clear.

Another factor - Treasury has frozen county development vote until after elections - so governors are finding themselves in tight place.

Trust Omollo to twist and turn - and as always yarn a story only believable to himself. NASA are so broke they have held only two rallies in nearly 2 weeks.

The originating post clearly stated evidence of Jubilee pecuniary embarrassment. Money bags like Sonko was cited as an example and proof.

I can add Gideon Mung'aro of my county and others from Kisii etc who are running away from voters because they have no money.

You are the one who quickly turned it to smear NASA:
Quote from: Pundit
The same stranglehold on foreign money is affecting I think NASA.

I am simply telling you that NASA is not suffering any money problems. There is enough to rent planes and choppers for the campaign teams.

The only "evidence" is there having been no rallies for two days. That I refer to the clearly published campaign program which set different events for the 14th, 15th and 16th.

So please so that I don't accuse you of rumor mongering could you present evidence for the following:

1. The CBK letter freezing Kalonzo accounts
2. NASA money problems

NASA rallies this week:
1. Tharaka Nithi
2. Meru

Note that The NASA team were resident in the area for the duration of the rallies. NASA is not desperate and its campaigns are moving smoothly with Jubilee supporters defecting in large numbers to NASA. What is the use of having daily campaigns which are daily humiliations as Uhuru is experiencing? Deserted Kakamega leading to threats to a senator "Nitakunyorosha" ?

I have a video of him drunk speaking gibberish. That is the reason he is not my president:
