Let me exercise first and I will read it later. It is interesting. May be we can now know how to tackle this problem. I have been advocating AGRAIN reforms. Forced Farm Seizures to be part of these reforms and rapid urbanization. If you have 1/8 of an acre we can put you out of the misery by moving you to an apartment consolidating your land and allowing real farmers to farm this land while you become part of human resource and labor availability.. We cannot all be producers

Why?? That violates the property laws and would put Kenya in very poor standing internationally. WB, S&P, etc would relegate us from junk to hopeless. Bad idea.

60% of Kenya is semi/arid... real farmers should put up there. Fyi 100ha is not proper farming. We need to incentivize agric investors local & FDI. Equity Bank has a subsidiary that's putting 3,000 ha under irrigation in Garissa or someplace in NFD.

Almost the entire Eastern, upper Coast, NEP, Turkana, etc is dirt-cheap desert. Agritec exists... we need to use our heads.

Yes.  The million acres in Galana.   Billions of taxpayer shillings spent and plenty of eating  ... but not of the produce of the land.  Promises and glorious visions, but always begging for food.   And land is to be seized for what?

Start with the fake fertilizers.  Who supplied fake fertilizer?  What role did Buzeki play in these mess?

The problem is not land. We produce about 5 times less than US or Asia farmers...and we apply five times less fertilizer. The solution is to apply 5 times the fertilizer we do so we can get 5 times the proceeds. We can easily produce 200m bags from 40m bags by just applying 5 times the fertilizers.

The money we are using to for maize subsidy can be used to increase the amount of fertilizers in the fertilizer subsidy programme.
