Simanova, la question est'
« on: July 17, 2016, 11:09:01 PM »
Seeing you are a CORD enthusiast, it seems there is suddenly a havoc in ODM out of Luo Nyanza. So much so that "Ruto's millions" won't fly under this radar. The item is of course 2017 elections, but the whistle is a repeal of the political parties act just recently to allow for such unscruples and disloyalty. Apart from Eugene, Mudavadi and say Ababu, how do you explain the acts of coast, Kisii and western defectors? Are these folks suicidal? Or is ODM that unpopular  :o As Pundit says, politicians vote with their feet...

Nobody complained when Raila was using his PM patronage to maintain and buy support for ODM btw 08-13 and now that UhuRuto are deploying state power to attract and retains support then it suddenly become evil. The double standards.Looking at ODM; outside Luo Nyanza; I don't see how Raila can retain support elsewhere. Raila has nothing to offer them. Not even the hope of going back to power in 2017...so why stay in wilderness.

Pundit, I doubt there is any "wilderness" beyond Ruto's rhetoric that ODM members are in. How is Kilifi Women Rep or Lunga Lunga's Mwashetani in wilderness? PORK has no personal favors to dish out unlike Kanu days. In 2007, Coast, RV and Western MPs trooped to ODM thanks to grassroots sentiment. In 2013, Kisii politicians flocked ODM and their election vindicated them. Today Kisii MPs are moving to FORD People... why? What has happened? I don't buy Ruto claiming credit for preaching anti-Cord message.

The JAP merger is UhuRuto dictatorship in their strongholds at first glance. Bad for democracy. Why is ODM disintegrating? It was not built by fiat -- Kibaki was actually in power then, Raila offered no goodies.

First Pundit's defence of Jubilee's looting and abuse of state resources using Raila is as lame as it can get. He is playing the game Julie Gichuru played for Uhuru against Raila during the 2013 debate when she claimed that Raila had power while Uhuru (as DPM and Finance Minister) had none. The post of PM was as weak as Kibaki made it and Raila should never have accepted that. He should have gone for a rotational Presidency. He had no largesse to dish out and Pundit knows that. He is playing politics

In any case let him share examples of "Raila using PM patronage to buy support". The only thing Raila had to dish out were a few public jobs. He had no access to the money - thanks to Uhuru. Ruto and Uhuru have gone on a stealing spree and are dishing it out shamelessly.

There is no havoc in ODM. The media is trying to create one based on the large amounts of cash poured for that purpose. The issues in ODM are fewer than in Jubilee. Yet the same media has chosen to ignore the goings on in Jubilee to focus on ODM.

Here are some examples:
lease
1. Gideon Mung'aro promised to deliver Malindi. He flopped. But the media still gives him headlines about ODM being "finished at the Coast"
2. Ababu Namwamba goes missing from office for 6 months or more. He undermines anti IEBC demos with rude words. He tries to trace the ODM registration certificate but fails. The media gives him maximum publicity. His every pronouncement is headlined. Isukuti dancers who throw stones at him and sing all over town against him are ignored by the media. Boada boda who nearly lynch him at various places in Western are ignored. It is Ababu warning Raila etc
3. New Ford Kenya: This is a party of political wimps and maggots. Eunice Wamalwa needs a brain, Musikaro Kombo became senile at 18 and Kenneth Lusaka is a pig in a suit. The only man over there - Soita Shitanda - died. This a the party they meet along with Gumo (who is not even a member) to announce it has dissolved and joined Jubilee. The brains behind this is of course Kenneth Lusaka and Wamalwa. Now if Uhuru tells Eunice to drop his pants in public he would do so. Anything to please. Same to Lusaka. Born sycophants. Insults aside, the grass roots of NFK has been loudly protesting this in rallies etc: The media has ignored it. Such stories will deflect attention from "ODM - The divided Orange"
4. We have several rebellions in RV. One in Kipsigis territory of Isaac Ruto and another in Baringo. The media has ignored both to focus on ODM

ODM has never been stronger.

Need I add how the same media believes that just because Ruto goes to Kitui to insult Kalonzo to his people, the Kambas will vote for Uhuru? A number of people are going to retire from politics along with Uhuru and Ruto. Top on the list is Mutua and Namwamba

People are more enlightened in 2016 than before. Kisii is solidly in ODM.

The mistake Uhuru and Ruto are making is to believe dishing out jobs to Nyachae's kids and youth winger (Matiang'i) is the same as bringing the Kisii in the fold. Those days are gone. Nyachae is now one of the most hated figures in Kisii and Nyamira. If his son contests for a seat he will lose unless it is on an oDM ticket.

The problem with money politics is that it is very easy to counter it. For example ALL the MPs who received Eurobond are hiding in Nairobi. Those who did not seek permission to collect it especially. We just let out word that they are carrying Eurobond @10,000 per person. Unless they give 10K to those youth, they have no peace. Worse for them: Ruto confirmed

I see: minting Ruto's millions at the cost of reelection. Reminds me of some RV politicians who stuck with ODM in 2013 out of misplaced loyalty and were swept out. Kosgei and Kosgey. Ababu and Mutua are in contention; UhuRuto are not  :)

I think you're mistaken. UhuRuto wield a lot of patronage and of course money - they determine which project get priority via their parliamentary poddles and treasury - and they are in charge of maybe 0.5m (assuming 0.2M) gov employees. Raila had half loaf (it wasn;t empty loaf) but at best it was more than 1/4. He made that bed and he had to lay in it. Ruto told him that he had to go with "minimum irreducible" bargaining position...but the fool went to Sagana and got shagged kimataifa. Look at how Ruto has shared power with Uhuru. Now that is a true power sharing.

I think apart from gov largesses which is attracting many folks to Jubilee there is sense that Jubilee tryanny will win again and again - and that Raila at best is hopeless.

Pundit, I doubt there is any "wilderness" beyond Ruto's rhetoric that ODM members are in. How is Kilifi Women Rep or Lunga Lunga's Mwashetani in wilderness? That we have no pro-Cord mainstream media balance does our democracy a BIG disservice. Say like the pro-ODM Citizen TV in 2007. Worse Gema bots seem to hog twitter. Most vernaculars are run by Gema even Ramogi. That I buy Ababu's lies in 2016...

I think I still don't grasp politics: it's men territory  :-\ :(

Classic delusion. ODM is in shamble. It not the media creating it. It not one MP. It not Ababu or Mungaro. Its the majority of MPs. Majority have gone quitely. As for Jubilee - the rebels are so few - it countable in one hand - Isaac  & Meru governor - are the only hold out -- the rest are scampering for safety.Next election will be a blow out for ODM. You can imagine a party where in it's stronghold western - it in utter and complete mess. Somebody like Messi is awake and seem keen to retain Vihiga. Bukusu is down to New Ford, FORD and Jubilee's Mt Elgon. Busia is splitting. Kakamega was always split.

Yeah Robina - I remember how wrong you got 2013. It very easy to understand our politics. Stick with raw and base. Stick with ethnic maths. Raila outside Luo Nyanza/Joho's and few other financiers is dead as dodo.

What you call patronage Simanova calls outright bribery. I think there is some shift in public opinion hence the defections.

Pundit

Which MPs have gone? I rather think you are the one deluding yourself.

Let me explain this time slowly:

1. An MP defecting does not mean the voters have also defected. Case in Point Nkaissery and Dan Kazungu. They defected but we still have an ODM MP.
2. The Joho you are deriding worked hard to keep Mung'aro doing his full time job of pimping for Uhuru.
3. Why are these MPs not publicly declaring defection? Is it because they see the treatment Ababu has got? Of that Mwashetani is getting (having to go the toilet with a body guard)? Or Washiali who BTW supported Waiguru (who bolts from funerals when he mentions Jubilee)? I get it, you say they have "gone quietly", where have they gone? If an MP has gone he should speak out loudly and announce his stand. Why are they "going quietly" Pundit? Is it because they know Jubilee has no support among their people? Is it the money?

I have shown how the media is biased and is running a narrative that is non existent. You can prove me wrong rather than make declarations.

Pundit has not grasped the extent of Jubilee's unpopularity. To him huge mega infrastructure projects and "secret defection" of MPs means Jubilee is popular and ODM is in shambles. Ruto should keep some of the money he will need it in September next year.

We know from the fake opinion polls the intention to rig. That script has been followed before by Kibaki first and later Uhuru. But we shall take measures to make it impossible.

Who has defected. I am aware of no MP who has defected. Even Nkaissery claims to be in ODM. I know Mung'aro has said he has defected and we have said bye bye. If only he could show how popular he is by resigning and re-contesting the seat. But the greedy bastard knows he can't win and is headed to the dumpster.

Ababu? He denies leaving ODM. Otuoma is back. Otichillo never left. So who defected? Who wants to commit political suicide other than Ken Lusaka (who is not ODM)???

Pundit how many votes did Uhuru get from Western in 2013. Thanks in advance.
