I have come to realize land and real estate have good returns only if you are willing to buy develop and then sell. I still think there is still a big untapped market of apartments under 2.5 million in Nairobi and houses in small two bedroom houses in the outskirts of Nairobi. These houses should be built mwisho wa rami in areas like Kitengela. Target market should be small saccos and recent graduates who would prefer to own a starter home before they make enough to move up. Right now I am looking for a opportunity that I can unload about $30K and make a good return. Let me hear good ideas out there. I would prefer not to do Real Estate and land related investment for now.

That $30K will only afford you a small plot in Kitengela right now according to my very reliable sources. Real estate market in Nairobi especially is way too high..... I wonder if the bubble will burst anytime soon.

Real estate is for fools.. If you did not get in the last 15 years you are doomed to try now. How do you recover 3 million in mwisho wa lami Kitengela

 I suggest you get into farming, or set up a factory to manufacture something. 29yrs down the road you'll be fine. Even simple stuff like soap

3m in real estate today- forget around any urban centre across kenya

dairy farming is becoming a good bet... with 3m in dairy you can get a half to an an acre in areas like Murang'a, Limuru; construct and have up to five heifers each with a potential of at least 15 litres per day..... at Kshs. 35-40 farmgate price to brokers, revived cooperatives

if you get LUCKY and have a committed farm manager/ worker you good to go .......

I suggest other things other than dairy farming. How about apple -  not as intense as dairy. The Kenyan diet is changing. You'll make more than dairy
