Good points by Khaemba on education - schools management

Spot on on powers of headteachers - too much interference from parents, TSC, BOG, politicians...

In this age we still have illiterate BOG members though this is largely due to young, educated guys staying away largely due to petty/dirty politics (our usual excuse)... given millions being managed by head teachers once a BOG is weak things go Mumias... reason why we have strikes over sugar in tea, bread, buses and such can be traced to misuse of monies, overenrollment/enrollment monied naught kids

Can't understand views by most Kenyan educationist on syllabus given global competitiveness - what is this we keep talking about 'overburdened syllabus'?? overburdened compared to what? how realistic is the balance between academics and extra curricula activities and nonsense holidays watching tvs??  on average once you get out of school you will need to work for over 12 hours given informal jobs, underemployment crisis.... you can never have so called 'balance' given current global realities
