Kenyans new keeping with Joneses is building palatial homes in rural areas. The funny thing is that as soon as the building is done none of them relocates to kwiinya permanently. This building is done using 401k funds and debt. So the person building must continue working to sustain the lifestyle they want to lead. What a waste of money. Nigerian Kids raised abroad are really getting vocal about their parents taking family resources and diverting them to build these white elephants in a place they haven't lived in decades.
Anyway kila nyani na starehe yake. There is no way i would invest $100k to build a house in kenya. Why leave a developed nation to go pretend to be super rich in a sea of poverty. There is one Luo guy that live deep in rural nyanza that is the biggest advocate of this
He is a good marketer of his contracting business
The man in his 50s has children that are toddlers. So you wonder why his life is upside-down. I like watching his channel and seeing the fallacy of the myth he is selling
My Oldman had built a macmansion as a Youngman bought land and thought he would the next lord Dalmere..the problem is that he had invested this in very remote rural kiambu and he spent his life regretting that decision. If that house had been built in muthaiga or anywhere in nairobi then it would have been very useful to him.
Don't use 1970s template in 2026. Those type of palatial homes need a person making over 3 million shillings a month to make any sense. If you want relocate build a modest house that won't take all your resource
A fool and its money will be separated
