Ruto needs to Turn to Russia to manage Kenya Fuel Prices
« on: October 15, 2023, 06:51:40 AM »
His administration is too focused on underhand deals from Saudi/UAE and India .
He needs to change focus to Russia . Thats his solution . Fix that or face consequences come 2027.
Can see he is travelling to China hopefully he comes back with some good news.
Play the balancing act like Kibaki and Kenya can thrive support West 100% and we are back to Mois era ( even worse)

Why did he do away with the public bidding? Each company would gives its fuel price landing cost at mombasa port.

There is no difference between russian and saudi oil price, the problem is that rutos companies are the brokers who are overpricing the landing cost at mombasa port & then overtaxing.

To confirm this,Check the fuel price from russia & saudi at their main ports before exports,FOB.Its the same but when the kenyan broker comes in,its overpriced.

LASTLY,The price of crude oil is the same as 10 years ago,What changed?

Some jokes. Name one country in Africa importing Russia Oil cheaply. India refiners will import Russia bulk oil and sell it to us expensively. There is no other way

OTC was not working as OMC were struggling to find forex to buy fuel. Under such times critical supplis like fuel, food and medicine need to be prioritized. The deal with Saudi and UAE is brilliant. It assures us of supply. Our fuel is not expensive - it near similar to what obtains in Tanzania or Mozambique or South Africa.

Doesnt look like serious volumes. Kenya is at maybe 150,000 barrels per day. Saudi and UAE deal is the best for now. Russia oil is wild card.

Russia can bring their wheat and fertilizers - we will be happy to trade on that.

Hopefully Ruto have a sit down with Putin for a tete a tete during his trip in China .
We need pragmatism in foreign affairs approach to benefit from each and every side

Putin spoke with CCTV ahead of his visit to China to attend the Belt and Road Forum on October 17 and 18.

So Putin has been reduced to the level of just another leader like Ruto? Seems Putin is very desperate to get world attention. The man should take the chance now the world is looking at Gaza Strip to either overrun Ukraine and dine soon in Kyiv. Or if that is too much for him, he should use the chance to make a hasty retreat back to the borders of 2014.

Hopefully Ruto have a sit down with Putin for a tete a tete during his trip in China .

They stopped exporting refined oil. They only export crude. Now there is exchange controls to try to keep the ship afloat.
