Mau Summit Dual Carriageway Cancellation
« on: January 21, 2023, 03:46:30 AM »
Why has the government cancelled this? I thought it's an urgent development need? Do they just want to eat?

Corrupt deal that is fatally flawed...as it doesn't provide alternative route for those who don't want to pay

Noted. The lack of alternative route is bad for sure. The proposed toll charges seemed very expensive to me. But getting to such an advanced stage, with funding from AfDB etc and presumably just waiting for start raises some questions. If it is so fatally flawed, there should have been noise before reaching that stage, considering the magnitude and cost.

Apparently it could be back on course: https://theinformer.co.ke/plans-to-resume-suspended-rironi-mau-summit-road-back-on-track-dp-gachagua-says/

If they agree to provide alternative freeway for those who don't want to pay sure
