Kuria giving Maize farmers tough love

With approval of Ruto.Subsidy will only work if the farmers also work on their part.

You cannot demand subsidized fertilizer and subsidized output.

The time to tell ukweli is now. Ruto should take the front on this. Museveni does this in Uganda. Ukweli is good. And good now...becuase election is far away.

So far it appears only Moses Kuria understand what is required. Painful reforms. Tell kenyans the truth that we cannot continue this way. And this best time....becuase election is 5yrs from now.

I think Moses Kuria is more of a liability than asset. You cannot wake up one day and decide government is not going to buy maize. Ruto need to cushion farmers especially maize farmers until you have a better and cheap option to replace ugali.

How about importing USA GOV subsidized GMO to kill and burry RV farmers?

Who's going to benefit?

Kuria was right it's now clear the tough choices needed the government isn't ready to make them. For starters as a policy government should disband cereals board and turn it to just a warehousing facility. Liberalize agriculture sector, its what will kick start the moribund economy.

I wonder where they got the 30m bags from. There is no maize being harvested otherwise supply forces would have reflected. Hasla has to realize 80% of bureaucrats are still bitter with his win. They are not happy to be told how to work by likes of Kuria.

January it will be a crisis with global maize supplies dwindling.
