Thats like putting lipstick on a pig...the whole security apparatus needs to be disbanded. They have failed Kenya. Matter of fact, Uhuru needs to go.

Now comes the big challenge for Uhuru. Will he chose pragmatism over tribe? His people want the job like life depended on it. The military wants the job to complete their bloodless takeover; URP wants to keep the job or WSR appears stabbed in the back; What about the balance (regional and ethnic) in the police command?

Watch as he fumbles.

Cosmetic, where have they taken Ole Dengu?

He lacks the backbone to resist being asked to go.

In my opinion, I dont think replacing people will improve security. The only thing that will do is developing good policy. Parliament gets an "F" because they rubber stamp people  instead of having a real interview with them.

Why is sieke commander taking the bullet for the rotund man whose forces have failed to stop incursions into Kenya?  Since when does a police chief resign because invaders can come and go as they please?

Call me sceptical but Uhuru needs to think outside the box. Bring in managers and stop using the retired army people. Thay will have to relearn civilian management style. I remember the former police boss, Ali being recruited from the army. The guy knew nothing about policing. Never developed policies to promote accountability. So, when he left corruption was worse than before. Crime was getting worse, etc.
The position needs someone who is a multitasker with fresh thinking brain. Recruit someone from abroad who has been in the field and has had the job done. Sending the army to Baringo to loot and destroy creates more enemies which demands more resources.

Without inquest; these is a waste of time; actually passing the buck; politically.

We need to honestly study what the hell is happening, why the hell it is happening and what the hell we can do to stop them from happening.

Then Uhuru should act on those recommendation.

Kimaiyo and Ole lenku were figure heads..it a good start..they should have been fired on day one..but we need to do more radical changes.
