Very true. In our Whatsapp family forum, people are super anxious, even when there is evidence that DP has won. In a society where the government can disrupt counting and seize electoral materials, there is a reason why people stay anxious. Media plays a big part in democracy. Since they have the tools to count and declare the winner before IEBC can verify, they should be using that power to guide the public based on provisional results. It happens in most countries but Kenyan media is still captured by the State. I am sure they already know DP has won but they don't have the guts to say it! Their candidate lost the election...

I'm not anxious at all! :zen: If Baba doesn't nick it, it's not like it's some new experience. Tutaendelea as per usual. I'm pretty detached this time, having prepped myself for either outcome. But I have family who can't do anything but stick to this news throughout. Mara happy mara dejected as results go up and down. This contest is CRAZY tight! No one who wins this can boast of a clear mandate. It's the most 50-50 phenomenon I've seen in our kura since I bothered to pay attention!

What I've realized from all these political "sources" and "insiders,": everyone was full of BS. No one has done tallying! They were all relying on the media to do it for them. And the media wasn't prepared! So now no one can give each other true assurances. It's all fake, running around peddling contradictory figures for two days now! Kila mtu anaangalia NTV/KTN/Citizen ajue, hakuna insider ati anajua. So at least be consoled that almost the whole country is similarly nerve-wracked and has no choice but to wait for either the media or Chebukati to finish tallying as the only cure for their anxiety. :D

It's crazy - I have drunk so much beer to numb my nerves - and next I see - sixpack gone.

This absolutely crazy.
