I haven't spent much time looking at this issue and education in Germany.  But even I know polytechnic papers from Germany are up there - perhaps even above - degrees in some different country.  Baba spent years lecturing at UoN with whatever it is.  If he didn't have the qualifications, you can rest assured Nyayo would have used it against him.

A very ignorant statement from Ekuru Aukot.
The former chancellor of Germany, Dr Angela Merkel only studied in East Germany. So how did she acquire a doctorate if they were no universities then?
The standard of living in the then GDR was higher than that of Kenya today. GDR was self sufficient and had a very strong manufacturing sector in comparison to other Eastern Block countries.
