Few will ever understand and appreciate nomadic pastoralism.
Mzungu came and saw idle land.
Everyone see Maasai land as idle.
They dont see it as pasture land purposively kept idle or fallow for few months so grass can renegerate.
As long as Maasai keep moving - doesnt build permanent structure - land vultures will overrun them.
Nomadic pastoralism has no future.
Time to settle down, divide the land, fence it, and stay grounded.
Maasai doesnt need Ole Kina who romanticize the old life of Maasai.
They need bold leaders who will tell Maasai that time has come to change their livelihood.
CHANGE OR PERISH - that has been Maasai choice for the last 150yrs - they have refused to change - and are perishing.
