You took a risk. Ruto didnt. So we didnt. Ruto chose to consolidate GEMA. Day 2 and you're struggling. After two weeks - she will be tired of the heckling - and will campaign in Nyanza with Raila. It's very emotionally draining.

These are not paid hecklers;
The hecklers are all over;
Ruto is very popular in mountain;
So her flickering fire on day 3 will be about dead.
By week - totally dead.
You've see Raila and company try these run in mountain
But they cannot sustain because the rejection is widespreads; the heckling emotionally draining;
Politicians want to be loved; When they are heckled; they feel real PAIN.
Even likes of Kiraitu gave up - he knows better - and now never mention Raila - and his numbers just keep going down.

Another big problem - Ruto supporters are the unwashed poor - and they just dont know how to hide their feelings.
Raila, Uhuru and Martha in Mt kenya may get a hearing from older more educated folks - but poor - wako HASORA WHEEROBARRO!!
And they dont hide it. They are aggressive.

Looks like the young, unwashed, unemployed poor. What is the real poverty rate in Kenya and how badly has uhuru messed up the economy?

Poverty has increased nationally from 35 to 45 percent.
Regionally there is huge disparity - Kiambu or Meru has 20 or even less - but Turkana is 80 percent.
Most of poverty that increased I believe are floating middle class who covid-19 shattered.
Mostly SMES - now choking with microloans and dead business
They simply had no shock observers to deal with COVID-19 disruption.

Now poor people are supporting Ruto not because poverty has increased or reduced but because he has played nice propaganda to court them.
The whole hustler nation propaganda boils down to poor people we are going to enact pro-poor policies because we are together in the hustle.

That hustler revolution drove Uhuru out of mt Kenya and I just dont see how Martha will survive when she doesnt have the skillsets.

In fact she is likely to add fuel to the fire because she is deficient in emotional IQ. Politics doesnt work with rationality or reasoning - it's better if they say stupid stuff like we will give everyone 6,000 kshs

Looks like the young, unwashed, unemployed poor. What is the real poverty rate in Kenya and how badly has uhuru messed up the economy?

With an average per capita income of about $1500 dollars a year, I'd say poverty rate has to be more than even 45%. What is the benchmark for calculating poverty in Africa? If you look at countries like Rwanda and Uganda with per capita incomes of $800 a year how can that be considered anything but very, very, poor.

There are many types of poverty
International baseline - absolute is about a dollar a day - then 2 dollars for like normal poverty - 5 dollars a day for like baseline middle class
Then countries have national baseline.
Of course are even food poverty..
Most of poverty analysis is based on daily expenditure...
Kenya per capita is nearly 2000 dollars - we are doing great
But remember our gini co-efficient is high - we are close to South Africa as one most unequal countries
So per capita doesnt tell you the full story - unless there was equality
Which is why hustler nationa propaganda is working - there is serious inequality in kenya.
Regionally - Kiambu looks extremely good compared to Turkana
But even within Kiambu - Kenyattas are doing so well compared to the average village in Kiambu.
