Pundit score card
« on: March 09, 2022, 01:50:47 AM »
Our own pollster needs to be held to scrutiny. He is latest predictions and how they turned out.
1) Gachagua will be uda DP. Result: bad prediction
2) Uhuru was playing Raila. Result: Bad prediction
3) Kiraitu won't join Azimio. Result: Bad prediction
4) MOAS: Ruto sweeps the elections. Result: unknown
5) Ruto has commanding lead in Western block: Result: unknown and doubtful
6) Ruto will Carry central. Result: unknown
7) uhuru will rig elections is planning: highly doubtful
8) debts were not a big threat to kenyan economy. Result: very bad prediction. Kenya is caught in a debt death trap.
8) jubilee 1.0 delivered. Result: bad prediction. Jubilee 1.0 went on a borrowing binge to finance budgeted corruption
9) SGR was a economically viable project. Result: bad prediction. Sgr has become a drag on economy and running at high deficit forcing gok to borrow more to pay for operations costs
10) infrastructure development is all that is needed. Result: economic development doesn't equal to infrastructure development. Bad prediction

Add the predictions this crystal ball gazer has made and we can judge it.

This is the election why confirmation bias will be seen in real life.

I will audit your present predictions. Past predictions cannot be relied on for future predictions. I am the Auditor General and I am about to issue an adverse report on your going concern. Meaning your crystal ball is not only wrong but it is broken beyond repair

We meet on 10th August when as always you'll be crying.
My fidelity is to the facts.
If Raila start becoming a serious candidate - I am going to let you know before you ask.
So far I see that as my main problem with most of you.
You want to hear that Raila is winning :) - an improbable implausible proposition now

Where do we start at? So many false predictions.

Claim: SGR and infrastructure led investment will lift Kenyans out of poverty

Results:

Economy has been stagnant.

Debt has ballooned.

Private sector credit has been elbowed out by public borrowing.

China owns Kenya

Blame handshake. Economy has grown - from 40B to now 110B in 10yrs. That pretty awesome. The problem it's been jobless growth. The infrastructure is the building block. Now if handshake had not happened. Big 4 would have enabled the use of that infrastructure to fuel growth.

Ruto is seized on the issues - now that infrastructure exists - we needed to get housing and manufacturing - running. Big 4=BBI=handchieth.

We blame both Uhuru and Raila - they simply left Big 4 - and started the wild goose chase of BBI. BBI until version 4.0.
If Uhuru had singularly focused on the Big 4 - at least housing would have been a done deal.
If the amount of force/money used in BBI had been used in UHC - NHIF reforms would have been done by 2018 - and every Kenyan would have primary health insurance. This something GHANA has done it.
If the amount of force/money used in BBI had been used in HOUSING LEVY - there would be 0.5M new houses - that would have kept 2-4million people employed. Singapore long showed the way here. We had 24B dollars of committment but zero seriousness. Housing levy failed in court - and no remedy or follow up.

The same with manufacturing. The same with food security

Ruto has promised to re-start Big 4 with singular focus.

It's unfortunate we will have to do BIG 4 to repay jubilee promisory note - and then resume on Ruto new agenda on Hustler/Bottom economics full steam.

Chief, It is the job of the counties to formulate appropriate housing policies to suit their needs. Hakuna one size fits all solution. A huge housing project undertaken in Nairobi by Central government is so anachronistic.

National gov was to work with counties and developers. Counties were to provide 500-1000 acres of land for free to developers.

Go to Kiusmu - there many old colonial housing projects owned by county gov - turn them to Chinese developers to build what Brits colonial gov did - this time on much bigger scale - as highrises.

Gov was to waive the taxes on building input and profit on housing developers. Individual were to be forced to save money in housing levy - which would provide ready deposit for units purchase. Gov was to provide horizontal infrastructure on housing project.

Once all that is done - our housing sector would be de-risked - and chinese developers with idle capacity would fly in - and build us enough houses for everyone - cheap affordable housing.

We only need to invest about 1Billion dollars in housing levy - and get 25B dollars in return.

But Uhuru concentrate on BBI instead of fixing supply and demand side issues that continue to keep millions in SLUMS - while providing millions of construction jobs and skill transfer.

This will be Ruto first business.....because it's very low hanging with potential to employ 4 million people for some years.

Pundit as usual being petty. Just admit you were wrong with the many Jubilee projects that were highly inflated in prices and only initiated with the intention of Uhuru and Ruto cashing in on kickbacks.
You even defended the expensive loans by the Chinese and now Kenya has to go back to the IMF to refinance paying back these Chinese loans.

It has nothing to do with handshake as you claim. Kenya was already economically on the decline before 2017. Jubilee govt stole as if there were no tomorrow and today Kenya is paying a very high price.

Let not play politics with this audit. This is not time for circular argument but time to produce receipts. Pundit should provide documentation to satisfy audit queries
