I expected this guy to be the worst governor but it seems he is a practical guy. A performer. The nyongo family seems to be full of geniuses. Anyway his own dad owned rental houses in nairobi. I think they were estimated to be worthy 300 million. That is not small feat for a luo back then.

He is an enigma.  Transformation of kisumu is complete.

Yes Prof Nyongo and Ndii were engine of the narc economic recovery strategy paper - later kibaki did his vision 2030.

Prof Nyongo has a top brain - anybody who has met him since alliance knows that.
He has Phd in Political Economics from University of Chicago.
Chicago school of economics has produced top brains.
Nyongo was responsible for Narc economic recovery.
Nyongo and Sally Kosgey basically taught most of Kenya economist.
Dr Ndii cannot wash Nyongo shoes...he was Nyongo lackey until recently.
It a shame Nyongo due to political realism - has been forced to kowtow to the welding certificate holder Raila.

I had very good ideas on how we could reach double digit growth within the fifth year of our government but this required very bold steps; heavy investment in public works, a radical reform in the civil service and drastic cuts in public consumption. We also needed to take democratic governance seriously and not use the language of democratic governance as rhetoric

What Ruto needs is an economic advisory team made of people like Nyongo and Ndii.  People who have schooled OUTSIDE of Kenya and people that understand the global world. Ndindi Nyoro and Kimani wa ichungwa and Oscar Sudi...I'm sorry. These are village bumpkins.

Yes countries that have excelled have got the best brains to give them a roadmap.
You only need 5yr development plan.
Let them come up with manifesto
A roadmap - and go home.
Then bring in Oscar sudis, Rutos, Gachaguas to religious follow the plan - break bones if need be - but get the job done.
It's like a building - architect design - and you bring in the wheelbarrows.

So Ruto should definitely get 10 Ndiis into a room
Let them think of the best plan to get us double digit growth.
Then turn the plan into actionable programs.
Then bring in Sudis - Sudis perform great in CDF - compared to many who talk English.
Because he understand his job is to ensure schools are built - not intellectualize or talk about crazy ideas.

What ail Kenya is that everyone is know it all expert and you have zero doers...we need good plan.. corruption is not big deal like having bad or no plan like magufuli self imposed ideas.Pinochet got Chicago boys and they turned Chile into a developed country..first latin country to pull it after white Argentina.Yet Pinochet was corrupt dictator.Get good plan then get down to work.. after 5yrs review... don't excuse laziness with long theories...get the thing done...then after 5yrs you go for another plan.This work in Ethiopia and China
