Ruto made him president the same way Moi jumpstarted his PORK career (as proxy to get Gideon Moi in using GEMA voting block). Ruto used him in 2013 when realized Raila was a hopeless joker in 2007. Without Ruto saying tosha - Uhuru was going nowhere - because he doesn't understand politics and how to make it happen.  Ruto had to campaign very hard as he was mostly busy drinking and smoking.

You have seen when Ruto withdrew his support - despite being PORK - he is struggling very much. In fact by end of this month - he will be totally empty - as entire Jubilee would have moved to UDA. Can you imagine a PORK who now has about 20 mps - from 170 Mps - with more defections expected every day now. He is either totally incompetent or playing dumb. I am confused personally as he has previously displayed his total ignorance & laziness - but I also know he is very smart - just lazy.

Nearly all the politics Uhuru knows - Ruto mentored and taught him. Previously he had struggle to win Gatundu seat - losing in 97 to Moses Muhia - a nobody - and in 2007 he literally killed KANU - and run to PNU to win back Gatundu. Gideon Moi would resuscitate KANU with 5 mps now.

Remove all the instruments of power - and what you have left is an empty suit with a drug problem - a mlevi - and you can see how Ruto has run so many circles around him - you'd think Ruto is the gov - and he is the opposition.

Ufool has deployed everything in last four years - dci, kra, police - raila odinga - OKA - mainstream media - but he simply cannot match Ruto brilliance, hardwork and resourcefulness - Ruto has outsmarted him in all facets of politics - from political propaganda to resources mobilisation.

Yes, DP is all about work, commitment to family, moving Kenya way up and ending alcoholism in Kenya. If he is elected, drunkards, folks who abandon their kids, and lazy people will suffer dearly. Government employees will be on edge till his last day in office. No one will be talking about Kagame anymore!

That is part that really excite me - finally Kenya will get a complete leader - something we have missed. Kenya will move places. Ruto has no room for failures. Like he said in his interview - corruption will be non issue as his gov will run like a clockwork - because performance will be key. You cannot steal and deliver. That is going to be hard.

Kenya deserve Rutosque leaders - people who take their jobs seriously 24-7 365 years - people with commitment to get stuff done - not lazy auto pilot we have been used to.

Moi had the commitment but he was uneducated and weak leader who needed to campaign everyday.

Kenya society is crying for a smart dictator - with michukisque ability to deliver - and kibaki brains. In every ministry - there are so many well thought out brilliant plans - but nobody has the wherewithal and seriousness to execute them...so we keep talking and talking...instead of doing and doing.

While I do believe that Kenya needs a Kagame like dictator, I remain skeptical about Ruto.  Why? because of his own history of wanton corruption and tribalism (I still believe he was the ring leader of the PEV and for that, they can be no forgiveness)

Unfortunately, it looks like he will be Kenya's next president and so we are left to judge him on his economic record. If the country remains poor, then I'll consider him a failure (like all African presidents have been)
