Climate change will continue ravaging havoc globally, west Pokot included. As weather patterns change, droughts, migration, and conflicts will continue being a dominant theme worldwide. Pokots though they are embracing agriculture, will not abandon their herds anytime soon. Fulanis in the North, Nuers, and Mundari in South Sudan, and Pokots and Samburus in Kenya face the same climate change effects. They have to constantly move, or their livelihoods will grind to halt slowly. Unfortunately, there is no easy place to move to except to displace other weaker communities nearby!

Agreed. Unless they abandon cattle keeping and embrace irrigated agriculture - and other forms of livelihood. That should be the focus of the gov. Otherwise no amount of guns will silence their need for water and pasture.

Gov should provide irrigation - and convert them to farmers. Other Kalenjin transitioned to very good farmers - from very terrible farmers in two generations.

I am not sure if it's propaganda or what?

Hapa itabidi amedeploy KDF. Matiangi has been busy counting Ruto wealth instead of staying ahead of the savages of West Pokot. Zero intelligence. They have terrorized Marakwet, Baringo, Turkana and Samburu..now they seem to have hit a jackpot in Laikipia with large expansive ranches.

It is the new thing they will stick to DP. I heard Pokot warrior on TV claiming a contingent of 240 guns 'bought' by DP was given to Samburu's to finish Pokots. It would have been a sensational headline had the warrior been Samburu claiming guns were supplied to Pokots
