Hated and slandered by Western liberals but a very humble and holy man and actually (ironically) a very
liberal theologian and philosopher, though most people don't know. I wish he never resigned. Popes can die of bullets as easily as any person on the streets. They are not saints/mystics/guaranteed any miracles. They are just pastors....with too big a congregation, IMHO.
Some of them can even be scoundrels.
