can african govts be trusted with this virus thing....
what extent are guinea, liberia, sierra leone cooking figures on ebola ...how many deaths are being missed in the remote villages
The cumulative number of Ebola cases for Liberia and Sierra Leone could double to approximately 8,000 by the end of September 2014. This estimate is within the range of other published estimates (8,9). Cases could be underreported by a factor of 2.5, and ending the epidemic requires approximately 70% of persons with Ebola to be treated either in an ETU or at home or in a community setting such that there is a reduced risk for disease transmission (including safe burial when needed).

Sierra Leone president blames NGOs on inflating figures
President Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone has accused international aid organisations of inflating Ebola casualty figures in his country in order to attract funding.
“If we go by the reports we are hearing, by the end of the year, nobody will remain,” Koroma said, while maintaining that the non-governmental organisations were delibrately giving the impression that the disease was more widespread that it really was.

Earlier Koroma had sacked the health minister
But some observers believe that even before taking up the mantle of leadership after the sacking of Miatta Kargbo, there were signs that Dr. Fofanah is more of ‘an establishment boy’, rather than a professional doctor who would err on the side of objectivity and truth in managing this Ebola crisis.
He is on record several months ago, addressing the media in Freetown – complaining that the Ebola reporting was focussing too much on those dying, and had wanted to change the communication strategy.
What is now clearly evident is that, Dr, Fofanah’s methodology of Ebola analysis, reporting and presentation preference, is obviously leaning at best towards painting a less than accurate status of the virus and its impact, and at worse pushing the number of deaths down the list, especially in certain districts.

IN this instance, every man for himself. Relying on a GoK that can't secure us from the very visible human shaped and sized Al Kebabs is a big ask especially when the enemy is a tiny almost invisible virus...

I pray every day that this disease stay well clear of our borders. The poor hygiene in the country plus corruption will decimate Kenya. Even then I extend my prayers to Asia. God grant that this distemper never step in Asia. If it does, then we are all dead.

My prayer too.
Going by Kenyatta Hospital standards, we will be doomed. What happens there stays there.
Very poor management.
