Title: Kenya govt out to kill the growing solar industry in order to save KPLC
Post by: Kadudu on November 29, 2020, 02:47:30 PM
Faced with more competition from the solar industry, Kenya govt now wants to kill the solar industry. Very stupid of Uhuru regime. Instead of trying to encourage the growth of solar industry, it is out to kill it just to save the corruption ridden and inefficient KPLC. Uhuru really does not live in this world.

It has been their cash cow. Every Kenyan I know with a post paid a/c complains about grossly inflated bills.

You cannot stand in the way of progress in technology. It's like analog standing in the way of digital migration or yellow line taxis trying to stop Uber. Commercial banks versus mobile money. Let them legislate all they want, they will be left with the carcass to eat. How can you stop the population from utilizing what God gives for free and so abundantly? Greed is a foolish thing.

Someone in ERC is probably thinking of ways to make money. My bro inlaw works in solar industry for Ndegwas who are with Kenyattas in many business deals - NIC/CBA. He tells me they have so much clout - so I won't put pass them to try pass such nonsense to block competition.

First they tried to force everyone to have water solar heating - that didn't go anywhere.

Because of those policy announcement back there, I made sure for every story building I put up.. all rentals, I installed a solar water heater, before their greed reminded them that less cash would reach KPLC so they stopped enforcing that policy.

These bodies are created for exactly such extortionist ploy. All sort of licences, permits, requirements blah de bleh.

The guy on the swinging chair at EPRA or any other extorionist body cares about nothing and is very happy to create a cartel of officers to be collecting bribes on his behalf.
