Baba cannot back anyone. That is where you go wrong. Ruto can - he is still young - and has all the time - but Baba is on his last run - well although he chicken out of the 2017 re-run - so he maybe be deflated.

Matiangi has the temperament of Karua and self entitlement of Peter Keneth.
In 2013 we asked PK to stand for Nairobis Governor and Karua for Kirinyaga Governor. They ignored our advice lost in 2013 and when they tried it in 2017 it was too late they lost terribly.
Matiangi is in a good position to become Governor of Nyamira in 2022, then learn a little bit of politics ,remember he has never been an elected leader.
Raila has sold BBI to these public servants and they think they will become Deputy Premiers

Raila handlers will make sure he is on the ballot come 2022.

If he is to back someone maybe MOI. Raila and his handlers fear to death Ruto. They cant control Ruto. Secondly Ruto is the only politician he has outsmarted them, the hate of Ruto has even trickled down to Raila fanatics especially Nyanza.

Under the current constituion Ruto cannot become a DP. Raila can.
Though his handlers wont let that happen , alot at stake. ODM party is a business , secondly they need Raila to win Governor positions thats where real money is.

This lot of usual wet dreams and tail-chasing by Tangatanga. Matiang’i is buying insurance for DPM slot so he must excite Gusii. He would be a fool to gun for governor after Super CS. 8) - his quicksand support would poof in a second. That self- serving "advice" by Tangatanga- as silly as Uhuru should trust Ruto and sign MOU.
Raila is using his BBI Manifesto to cobble NARC 2 - something for each kahuna. Deadwoods like Kaloozer, Mdvds - and retiring governors - need soft landing. It easy for say Joho to run for Kisauni MP and tell folks he will be DPM under Raila - to maintain regional clout. Ruto challenge is his wobbling on BBI - if he oppose it then it become hard to copy Raila lineup. If he back it - then he has no dynasty monster to sell hustler nation. Of course after election all Johos will be mere CS - no real power sharing.
Even clueless Nowayhaha can see through this small puzzle.
