That Children's home is in a very sad state. In her shoes I would be embarrassed to have a home named after me and in that sorry state. The children and caretakers are literally dependant on few wellwishers namely Wahindi of South C.

So in this Self Help Group they have policies such as if one is late for a meeting or event they "are charged 1k." The aim is to raise money for the Self Help Group. So Mama Ngina is legendary in that SHE CANNOT BE LATE OR MISS so as not to cough 1k fine. And when she has to send apologies, she dispatches her Mercedes to give APOLOGIES before time. I dont think another Uhuru will happen in the near future. Uhuru was just lucky courtesy of Moi in 2002 , Kibaki in 2007 and ICC and Ruto (Anti Raila)in 2013 and 2017.

Uhuru was lucky to have been brought by a Kikuyu nanny who later was married to Marsden Madoka and spending most of his times/holidays in Mombasa .Thats how he became good in Kikuyu snd Swahili .
He cultivated his potical niche through accompanying his father in many sides of Kenya during his presidential outings.

If you look at what I said and what you have restated ,most of the businesses came into fruitation in the 90s
About hotels ,they were no where near the Matibas when tourism was thriving in 70 and 80s .
They are the major players now in the coast hotel.industry. The bought the hotels when tourism collapsed in 90s and after Kibaki came to power in the 2000s (One reason Moi Made him Chairman of Kenya Tourism Board in late 90s).
Hence one of the reason guys used to say that Moi collapsed alot of sectors for Kenyattas family to take over.
