I think if they pay him like a billion dollars...he could exit.I believe Ruto has twin motivation..to become PORK and to become very rich. He could postpone the PORK part if they can bank some serious money in his accounts. If not - threats about xyz - forget.

Maybe they are discussing dowry for Ngina. Ruto wants wife number 3 after Rachel and Mama Abby.

People get rich by working hard and producing a tangible asset, eg a factory that produces something. Bribery and self dealing can make one rich, but its ill gotten wealth. Moibutu style of wealth creates lots of dependency, which is why Kenya lags behind in creating a bustling middle class.

I am not sure about working hard part. I am sure about the entrepreneurship part. The Kenyan Indians are classic examples of how to create sustainable wealth. Mwafrika has some way to go to get there. Real wealth is created by selling a product or service that you can massively scale.

I think we are yet to internalize that - without a scaling model - we ain't gonna become rich anytime soon.
