Raila BBI is done. You can take this to the bank. Kalenjins and Kikuyus have refused this thing. Today in Mathira BBI meeting was disrupted as locals demanded copies of BBI to read before endorsing it. The conman couldn't produce. Raila has run the perfect political con for over 35 years. - Luos urban poor, they are seeing raila for what he is a poor manager and conman at best
BBI is unsellable to Kikuyu masses and Kalenjins. That leaves Raila with only parts of Nyanza and Coast supporting this thing. It is dead, this a western nations project that Kenyans have rejected. Without BBI raila is headed for Political grave. Once he soundly gets defeated at referendum or before bitter raila will go to self imposed exile. he will waste there and retire.

Whatever the fate, the Old Man has done immense service to the Nation. Let us take advantage of whatever little achievement will come out of BBI while he is still at it and here with us. No one else would have dared stare down UhuRuto and forced them to a ceasefire! Not the "young men" who were hanging by his coattails (Kalonzo, Mudavadi, Wetangula). For those who do business in Kenya (as i understand you are a trucker in the US of A), the ceasefire has helped get by inspite of the battered economy rendered so by the clueless leadership of the Dynamic Duo. If he was still confrontational with the duo, they would either have finished him by now or still be blaming him for the economy on its knees, including the locust invasion.
Mount Kenya can reject BBI, including any progressive ideas for the good of Kenya, they are selfish that way; but it would not have been for a lack of trying!

I won’t pretend to even remotely start understanding what BBI is really about. But I’d be surprised if any of these folks believe GEMA will let power slip away because *some consultations*.

That is a very tribalist view. No doubt. GEMA is going for Ruto as 5th President of Kenya. Ruto ain't a Kikuyu or Meru or Gema.
I keep telling you Gema hate Raila, that doesn't mean they hate every Luo or every Luhya or wherever. There reasons which i have stated herein. This time Gema has absolutely no reason to deny Ruto his deserved seat. Uhuru has been President for now going into 10yrs, what he couldn't do as President he cannot do it as PM.
