The Judiciary gave themselves powers they don't have. A governor ought to be impeached by MCAs once he has been charged for criminal offence. The Deputy Governor can take over officially.
Nyoro has been frustrated and ignored by Waitutu cabinet...Nyoro cannot hire or fire while acting as Governor. Its a complete mess.

On Wednesday last week, the Employment and Labour Relations judge Onesmus Makau barred Nyoro from appointing, reshuffling, dismissing or interfering in any way with the county executives, chief officers, enforcement officers and any senior officers

It is that Kenyan culture of "stepping aside" introduced during Kibaki's tenure. Either a governor is out or not. There is no halfway. Will we have to wait till 2028 to know if Waititu is guilty of the crimes he has been charged with before he can rightfully step down?

Pundit is a funny man. Graft suspects should step aside voluntarily until cleared. The judges have done Kenya a great service. The failure here is Kiambu Assembly which should have sacked Waititu long time ago. Or well if Waititu had an ounce of patriotism he would resign. Look at the suspension as you would any other incapacity.
