I know FB promised to never link WhatsApp to Facebook but how else would they recoup their $19b? And how did they arrive at this valuation anyway?
Since 2014, that amount has shot up. Assuming interest rate of 5% in 5 years and you have another $5B on top. Total cost to date is $24B excluding overheads(servers,staff etc)
Pushing WhatsApp status to Facebook is testing waters. Next will be profile,next sharing posts from FB to WhatsApp and before you know it ads will be hitting you
