The region is getting dark with Somali and South Sudan kaput as radarless Uhuru & Magufuli busy over their petty village agendas.
With OLF back in the streets this won't end up well just like it will fan out in Rwanda and Uganda once the bullies exit the stage.
How does Abiy rehabilitate his fellow OLF militants used to the jungle. It is going to get messy or the Tigray military top guys will retake power if they have lost it and got Sisi way in Egypt.

I think Africans should embrace the idea of peaceful separation. This would allow them to reunite, if need be, under their own terms. Rwanda, is just marking time until the next cycle of genocide. I don't what they can do. The Hutu and Tutsi are tied at the hip.

This Ethiopian PM needs to be encouraged and congratulated. At a time when African leaders are groping in the dark he seems to be going the opposite direction. The cost is huge yet in the long term he may end up healing more wounds and really solving the ethnic problems that have haunted his country since Haile Selassie's heyday. Kagame will not like this story.

Yes. Peaceful divorce and unity under a wider regionalism would be the best for this fragile zone.

Ethiopia’s mercurial rise looks like fraud to me,much worse than ours. That’s how I look at the unrest

Too many tribes to practical. The way forward is more federalism without seperation. And of course gov need to retain monopoly of violence.

Monopoly of violence is the main problem in countries like Rwanda. If the Hutu get their hands on the military, 1994 will surely be revisited. In places like Kenya, monopoly of violence is what keeps the wealthy corrupt elite in power and Ruto wants to inherit it in 2022. Once separation begins, each state or county will want its own version of this monopoly. In Ethiopia, the OLF are having a go at it.

Time is what is needed...maybe 200yrs for these nations to emerge as true nations. We are too harsh on ourselves. Comparing ourselves with nations lasting centuries. Our nation will eventually jell into nations....in my estimation in another 100-200 yrs from now. Our tribes would then have disappeared.

Human beings won't survive in another 200 years unless Asia economic growth collapses and western world standard of living drastically goes down

Is it a sign that inflation is catching up in Ethiopia or the Tigray military elite reminder to Abbiy that they can get him anytime they want?
Will Abbiy smell the coffee and start consolidating power and do away with such press ups antics - Ethiopia is still a savage place when it comes to matter power.
