If she has been at this for a long time - there could be lot of bodies buried here.

Don't get me wrong... she broke the glass ceiling that only men and young folks can be gangsters. It's a first.  :D

I am not sure if the ceiling there is made of glass. Lead ceiling?

If they do it for long they become old crooks though.

Nation media is trying so hard to change the narrative with funny funny headlines.  There is no story here.

Given the social network where any slight movements and strangers are flagged through rumour spreading in the village to pull off such a criminal syndicate for so long is quite worrying. In the urban slums it is not surprising but in sleepy villages and where it involves such unusual suspects this is crazy.

Tabloid sensationalism. I don't buy an atom of this crap. I have read the story and it simply does not add up. Smells of a coverup.

When police in Kenya kill a person and start planting guns or calling the person a thug, Most Wanted (when previously unknown leave alone Wanted), I have learned to treat it all with a ton of the best Sea Salt.

We know thugs including the police use old people to store their loot, weapons and transport drugs. If bodies are found on her compound.., sorry she is dead, she can't name the senior police officer who "rented" the place to set up a private cemetery.

An 80 year old Secret Agent 007... with a licence to kill and secretly bury? nah!

Nation media is slowly drifting to tabloids category.
It's only good for wrapping meat. When you label an 80 yr old cucu gunned down by police in her own house as gangster maybe you owe it to the public to tell the more on crimes she has committed in the past...has she served time in Kenya jails?  Was she of sound mind...what was her relationship with the kidnappers?  Was she aware the lady had been kidnapped?

But even with all that does this non sense belong in the headlines?  What's the motive
fake news.

Apparently ethnic rags is failing miserably.  GEMANS don't buy meat wrappers.  The biggest news the last few days was/is Msando Anniversary,  upto this date no one has been apprehended, what happened to FBI help? But am sure they would rather not cover that.....bure kabisa

I dont believe this story. An 80 yr old will have lost most of her cognitive skills to plan extensive gang activity.
Why was he killed in the first place instead of being taken to trial?
Maybe police planted the whole thing, but we will never know since she was silenced.

Parkerpencil not all 80 year olds are senile. Some people age like wine as we've seen with many politicians. I would rely on real evidence than age as a argument... if I was to defend a criminal for some reason. She died in a shootout as many gangsters do. Old age is not immunity.

Robina,
Yes I agree some grandmas are sharp at that age, but I doubt it was that bad to warrant a death sentence.
All we know is the info police provided. The media never even interviewed the family to provide an unbiased reporting. "Shootout" in Kenya means bullets fly from police side.  Its always been that way since i was born.

I think if she wasn’t part of the gang, we would be seeing complaints to that effect from credible sources like neighbors, relatives, friends...

It’s not like Kenya is North Korea where such information can be kept under wraps by sheer state terror.

The daughter admitted mom was a criminal and pleaded for help with funeral arrangements.

That should put the question to rest.  Old or youthful, kidnappers enjoy pride of place near the bottom of the worst of the worst.
