Sleaze and election manipulation go hand in hand. It is said Chiloba kept the loot to himself and many commissioners were dissapointed. The commission can only afford sleaze knowing that the top politicians owe them a big favour.

I agree. It was too easy to be true. They were either threatened or bribed or both. Maybe the hand shake is working.

This is not the only change that is going to happen before 2022. There will be more and I have a feeling you will not welcome some of them.

Anything short of a firing squad is a win for these thieves. I hope Chiloba has saved enough money and bullets to protect himself and his family.

JEBC thieves, Not even Msando's death would make them resign. Someone is trying to pour cold water on any talk for referendum, elections or constitutional changes....

You are onto something. Pre-empt meaningful changes by replacing the offending characters with "an untainted" bunch. Whichever way, it looks like Kenya is in for another decade or so of kakistocracy.

Same monkeys....it's all monkey business. With JEBC gone and NASA in disarray 2018 is pretty much wasted in terms of meaningful change. We will spend the whole year fighting over IEBC commissioners. In my opinion I would say devolve electoral commission let every county run their elections.

You are onto something. Pre-empt meaningful changes by replacing the offending characters with "an untainted" bunch. Whichever way, it looks like Kenya is in for another decade or so of kakistocracy.

The question remains how do we deal with fruits of a poisoned tree, that's Jubilee government? The only cure that can take us back to factory settings is a revolution. We have put lipstick on pigs for too long.

IEBC will be reconstituted afresh to conduct fresh election. The law is pretty clear about the procedure and this best time to do it. Wait for 2022 and it will make it a leverage. So I think Chebukati need to do kenyans a favour and resign.

Chebukati should go ahead with investigations. Release all the memos and maybe even open the server :D as his parting act. I think the resigners want to preempt investigations.

Chiloba knows a lot, Chiloba was JEBC...If investigation gets underway better believe Chiloba will be involved in a car accident or something like that...If I was him I would seek asylum pronto..

Activist Okiya Omtatah wants the three officials, who resigned from the electoral commission last week, to formally do so and handover public assets in their possession.
In a case filed at the Labour court, Mr Omtatah argues that the three have made it impossible for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to announce vacancies and commence the process of replacing them.
