12 people died and two others were injured after a passenger matatu collided with a truck at the Salgaa black spot on the busy Nakuru-Eldoret highway early Sunday morning.
The 11-seater matatu belonging to Great Rift Shuttle was trying to avoid hitting a cow that was crossing the road when it lost control and rammed into the oncoming trailer.

Time to divert trucks thro Njoro Elburgon and Molo...that steep incline and decline of Salgaa is no good.

The government also needs to take seriously the training and assessment of drivers.

Yes. 2 things
1. Separate the lanes for the treacherous stretch. We can have a lane barrier like the Waiyaki Way-Limuru stretch on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
2. Control pedestrian crossing using strict barriers and flyovers like Mombasa Road. This latest accident was caused by an oblivious cow.
This is better than forcing truckers on a costly detour. The setup cost is to expand the lengthy section to separate the lanes.

Make absolutely sense. NTSA are there trying to enforce no change of lane but mwafrika ni mwafrika. Uhuru should order that wall built asap. The money can come from NTSA budget :)
