This is what I wanted sone IT savy people to explain to me........

Under Voter Registration and Data Management, the commission has made it clear that it is using database software known as Oracle 11G, plus other database management software such as SQL and MySQL.

Logs can mean anything. It's already established that IEBC has been displaying so-called results without the relevant supporting documentation. What exactly is the narrative behind the logs?

Termi, read the brief in Pundit's thread hapo juu.

In my opinion, the process was fair. Sometimes you dont get what you want. Move on...

nonsense.form 34A were always going to be late coz they require 3g and lots more time to upload.Raila gave out logs to prove rigging. The least you can do is to analyse the logs and dismiss them with contempt on professional grounds

The narrative is not good. Raila should fire whoever came up with this angle. It's a celebration of ignorance on a different scale.
They should focus on the Forms 34. That is where the real problem is and has already been addressed by the courts.

It makes him look bad, even though he has other legitimate complaints.

Whoever advised him should be fired. And what matters is the forms per courts ruling. So verify those. If they add up, concede. In a democracy, people get the leaders they deserve.

So basically the insinuation of msando logins passwords was complete nonsense. Seriously this was quite irresponsible and unnecessary .

To be fair he is no IT expert and is trusting someone who is obviously suspect. If he thought they were fakes he wouldnt have pulished them, he would have just made the claims of hacking. He obviously thinks they are genuine.

I didn't quite get to looking thoroughly at the logs, having been discouraged by the level of illiteracy(the key claims are made on the basis of this lack of understanding). Optimization settings for instance are assigned ominous purposes which they don't serve.
For example
At the same time, they set the Date Correlation Optimization to off. In doing this, they effectively disabled the system from detecting date and time
This option has nothing to do with detecting date and time(whatever that means). It's an optimization option to improve the performance of table joins that use dates as keys.
However, if the logs are genuine and not tampered with, there was indeed a failed attempt to log in using first Chebukati and later on msando logins from the database server itself. That in itself can raise questions.
08/08/2017 09:05:23,Logon,Unknown,Login failed for user 'msando'.
Reason: The password of the account must be changed. [CLIENT: <local machine>]
08/08/2017 09:05:23,Logon,Unknown,Error: 18488<c/> Severity: 14<c/> State: 1.
08/08/2017 04:46:11,Logon,Unknown,Login failed for user 'Chebukati'.
Reason: The password of the account must be changed. [CLIENT: <local machine>]
It looks bad to a casual observer. But to make anymore of this you have to know for a fact that
1) the logs are genuine
2) there are in fact such users
If they can make up parts of it, I really don't consider the entire compendium of documents reliable.

This is omollosque kind of creative nonsense or propaganda whose only a is to sow seed of mistrust n activate the base.

That's his bane; making real and imagined claims

Chiloba has just stated that they don't even use mysql, nasa proclamations were false and as a result protests in mathare erupted and now 4 people are dead.
-
If I was in his place I would also deny using MySQl. I could even deny using a computer and sticking to addition using the abacus.

It'd be extremely dumb lying about such a verifiable point. Think of hundreds of employees who interact with the DB,service providers,vendors,consultants... think of an Adventist denying the historical Ellen White
-
The logs are claimed to be for "SQL Server". Not "MySQL". Just keeping the discussion honest.

Termie can you explain in layman terms what those logs are? Are they from database how possible could they be logins for a database or a system within the IT infrastructure of IEBC? I did Ms DOS way back in the days that is the closest i came to any of this stuff.. I am quite good in observing in that I can do simple Marcos coding without realizing what I am coding or just find my way in some stuff I have no idea if I would break if I mess with.. So I am what you little knowledge and dangerous in this stuff.. I plan to take my arse to a boot camp one day to get some basics of this stuff for my own good

They just document stuff that is going on with that database server. You log in and it's recorded. Server runs a helper program(what these guys are laughably claiming to be malicious applications) and it's recorded etc. It happens behind the scenes. Think of it as an electronic audit.
Most programmers don't know or ever have to care about any of this stuff. It's more of a DB admin area of interest. But some claims will be immediately recognized as just wild by anyone with some familiarity of modern development environments.
I have no idea how Raila got these. I am not even sure if they are genuine. But they list some information like server names that could be directly refuted or confirmed by IEBC. It could be that someone knows a thing or two about the IEBC setup and included realistic information. Short of an audit, you really can't tell. But he should put this hacking nonsense behind him.
