The drama started over a week ago when Mr Wairimu was rescued by police officers at 5.30am from the lodging in Kenol after he made a distress call.
Kandara police boss Gregory Mutiso said Mr Wairimu was bleeding profusely when the police broke into his room.
He said the candidate was taken to a hospital in Kenol while the suspected attacker was taken to Kabati Police Station.
“At the police station the suspect narrated why he was fighting the candidate,” said Mr Mutiso, adding that “he accused Mr Wairimu of trying to sodomise him.”
But Mr Wairimu alleged that his ordeal resulted from political wars with his rivals, who he said were scared of his rising political star.
He said an unknown person broke into his room and viciously clobbered him with a wooden bar that had nails on it.
The aspirant said neighbours who responded to his screams locked the hotel’s door from outside, locking him inside with his attacker as they called the police for help.

Yeah smell dirty politics. Politic is dirty everywhere. It the fight for power and money. I don't like it personally. prefer my peaceful life.

I remember last election a woman said her rival sent a box of condoms to major church gatherings in her shags constituency/county claiming they were gifts from her. :o Its risky business. Better stick to farming and conventional occupations.

I have a buddy who's vying. He keeps telling me that Siasa si Kanisa.
I think they have taken it notches higher with the monetary incentives and opportunities. Was watching Lawrence Sifuna, Baba ya Edwin Sifuna, and he was like when Kenya had 120 MPs they were earning 70K whereas now an MCA earns 300K.

Yep!!! We focus so much on competition for the biggest seats but huku chini, with the increased incentives, the battle is even more primitive, straight up thuggery.

Safe to say I'm never getting sedated @ a Kenyan hospital, ever, if I have any say in the matter, unless it's Aga Khan or my close family is present throughout!!!!!!
