Title: NASA in Baringo
Post by: Omollo on July 12, 2017, 06:17:02 PM
Despite the much publicized incident (where the media has tried very hard to hide the faces of the perpetrators) the NASA activities in Baringo went smoothly:

Isack Ruto is the new king, I just love the way this guy breaks down issues to Mwananchi level....where is aisha juma, Ngong ngeno, and king of Turkana? NASA has enough firepower.  When is Ngilu holding press conference to out jubilee thieves sitting on stolen land?

NASA has left the foaming around the mouth to them.

I am glad Raila made it clear there will be no Nusu Mkate for them or anybody else. They started talking about it to each other then claimed that it is NASA that wants nusu-mkate. The panic is comprehensive. But I am keenly aware that we have 27 days and that is like a whole AGE.

Yes, and they are probably also suffering from malnutrition.   But they have tablets and laptops, so they will soon be in Konza City, raking it in and turning Kenya into a global tech power.    Or something like that, so the story goes.

I wish we could get a picture of  some of these poor kids in tattered clothes , no classroom, suffering from malnutrion, but with  battery powered laptops on their lap working under a tree with their teacher.  Pundit would call that maendeleo. One wonders what kind of bangi ouru was smoking when this idea was brought to him.

Education should partially devolved. Infrastructure, Equipment and Materials should be devolved. Alternatively the Kenya School Equipment Scheme should be revived and run by the National Government on behalf of the county governments. This should take care of Equipment and Materials while Infrastructure should remain with the counties.

NG should continue paying teachers and run the curriculum, discipline etc. That way people will be responsible for their own kids sitting on rocks and dodging rain torrents.

I do not support total devolution or education or Police. EVER!
