What is a Premier Cabinet Secretary? Will there be a constitutional amendment?
-
It is Jubilee's nightmare.

If I start explaining I will most likely face pedantic questions. So I will limit it.
These are not constitutional offices on the level of DP. They will be cabinet positions. Since Uhuru refused to allow parliament to establish departments and left it to the President, any president can create any ministries.

Looks like he wants to attack the mashinani issue from the center. If they win, that could mean stronger devolution. I get the impression that he has moved on from Bomet.

Smart way to avoid humiliating defeat

Smart way to avoid humiliating defeat
Possibly. He certainly prefers his chances with NASA to those of winning in Bomet. He has probably been assured of nomination if they lose.

Nominations are done before the elections. Poor guy will wind up with nothing. If they win he will be the new Kiunjuri.

Ok. I didn't know. It looks like he is actually still running for governor. That is because his promised position in NASA is technically not a position.

I do not see why he should not run for governor. Deputy Premier is not an elective office. This way he has hedged his bets very well. All the other four principles have nothing to fall back to if NASA loses. I think Mdvd and Weta should have done the same and run for governorship elswhere. All in all, this is a good team. You have more diversity than the two-tribe Jubilee. Also, Kalenjins have done themselves well with Ruto and Rutto on either side of the Kenya's political divide.

Weta is running for Bungoma senator - his current job.

Oh Ok. Thanks. Good for him.

Jubilee has been instructing NASA to pick anybody but Raila. I could see the anger when it turned out that:
- Despite the very good advice which Jubilee freely and generously offered NASA on who could beat them (Jubilee), the stupid NASA had gone ahead a chosen Raila Odinga
- Despite all the cash the NIS has dished out to politicians so that they can dump NASA at the "right time" especially before the naming of the flagbearer, all of them had stayed put and accepted the verdict of the experts to keep the winning team of 2013
- The few politicians who are willing to make noise (Jirongo, Nyenze) etc have zero or limited support and cannot push the agenda to cast NASA as "disunited"
If you read carefully you can notice the same frustration in Pundit's reaction. He should be celebrating that we have given them a candidate to easily beat! Instead you can see concealed anger a.k.a frustration.

Insanity is repeating the same thing and expecting different results. I think Kalonzo or MaDVD would have made things a little interesting for NASA. As of now - we've the same lineup as of 2013. Expect the same drubbing.

Uhuru had two options to keep state house and keep stealing:
Option one: To divide NASA
Option two: To rig elections
Option one is off the table. We know he is working on option two.
Suffice is to say he will fail miserably with option two. We know all the old tricks and have taken initiatives to neutralize them. We know about the new tricks and are knocking them out one after another as he sets them up. That includes the direct fibre optic line from the IEBC database to state house; Tampering with the Interior ministry databases of persons, birth and deaths and the planned disabling of the Biometric part of the database to facilitate multiple registration acceptance in Kiambu.
He has been clever to not stage resistance and instead disappointed us by simply dismantling the edifices once caught.
We know about the new software installed by Safaricom to tamper with results by awarding Uhuru a % of every vote Raila scores.
Let me finish by saying we also know about the planned rigging schemes!
We know how much cash the Qatar dictator brought in; We know how much Uhuru begged and got from India and what various indians are bringing in. Just so you know, they drop by or send an emissary with all the details. They too do not believe Uhuru will win and they are saying so and excusing themselves.
